New Hair!

by Love Upenzi

Decided to try something new this weekend.  So how do you like it? Most people know that I usually wear half wigs or full wigs.  It’s not that I’m bald LOL I assure you I do have hair.  It’s just very hard to manage.  As I grew old my hair grew thicker.  The only style that my hair can handle is a wet look.  Which is adorable on me but only for the summer.  I use to get braids in the winter or sew in weaves but my hair started to break off the last 3 years.  I’m afraid to get braids again because my edges thin out.  And I don’t like full weaves cause I like the freedom to wash my hair every few days.  So…half wigs and full wigs have been my favorite for a while.  My friends tell me I should just chop off all my hair, which is now about 3 inches shorter then the wig I’m wearing here.  But something about covering your hair and chopping it all of…that just don’t seem right.  LOL! I use to be very versatile with my hair.  Which I’m assuming now is why it’s so badly damaged.  I’ve had every single hairstyle there is and just about every color.  Except platinum blonde.  That’s just extreme.

I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this style.  But I love the wig.  It’s human hair and very natural looking and the texture is easy to flat iron.  I’ll probably flip it the other way next week.  We shall see.

Your hair is FEIRCE! It reminds me of mine, but my hair is damaged to. It’s funny becausae I went to get it done on Saturday, to come out with the top of my hair breaking off. I’m afraid to go out in public no a days because of it. I to have tried the color thing and doing new and exciting things with my hair, but lately it’s just been hurting my head more then helping. I might try the wig idea, because I always thought that it was your hair and I thought you looked really pretty with that style. Hmm. We shall see.

thanks aja. see, that’s the beauty of it. i can rock something very natural looking and give my own hair a rest. i hate that my hair is so damaged cause it use to look just like this wig a few years ago. i almost feel like my hair died, when my great-grandmother died. cause it hasn’t been right since then.

Girl your hair looks gorgeous! You’re so beautiful. I follow you on Youtube and I meant to comment on the hair when I saw your video. It suits you perfectly. Don’t cut your hair!! LOL. I think you’re on to something with the wigs. I should try that instead of damaging my hair so much. I’ve been transitioning and wearing my hair natural for a while now and wigs would definitely be easier to manage every now and then. Have a great week, darling.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about African-American hair…as I don’t have it. But I can definitely empathise with you. 🙂

First, I love the look.. I’ll say carry on with the badness.. As for hair you can chop it all off and grow it back…
As a natural I find that our hair does grow back faster and healthier… with braids.. stay away for those crazy folks that gives u headaches trying to braid up the baby strands.. I have yet to try wigs.. too scared afraid i might look fake lol.. the next best thing, braids.. takes too long to put in and take out it doesn’t help that my hair is extra THICK… lol..

The key to avoid damaged hair is keep the hair & scalp moisturized and keep the bad ends clipped off and it will grow long like normal. I have very thick hard to manage hair as well, so I always keep it in the same style, straight down, curly, or crinkles (however you spell it lol)

I never would have guessed that was a wig, it looks very nice and natural. 🙂
