I’ve been feeling sorta lame lately. I keep seeing these commercials for E-Harmony and Match.com where these couple meet online, fall in love :-X and live happily ever after. Can this be real? Does it really happen this way? I’ve been online fore 8 years and have met literally 2 people I could fall in love with. But distance kept me from being able to pursue it. Or at least thats the excuse I made up to keep from feeling like a loser for wanting to be with someone I met online. But really, these are real people. I think it’s easier meeting someone online. It gives you a chance to get beyond the physical and actually learn about the person. But when it comes to matters of the heart, do we allow ourself to get sucked into the “Love Online Cause I’m Your Match Let’s Live In Harmony From Myspace To Your Planet”? Are we that desperate for love that we’d seek it from someone we can’t even shake hands with?
I found myself actually completing a 15 minute profile on E-Harmony last week. And I’m still contemplating on actually paying $20.95 for an account to see who they matched me with. But I can’t help but feel like I’m being pimped by an e-love system.
