Today was a fairly slow day. Work…nothing special. I’m about to go to bed…me sleepy. But before I go, I did a quick video blog just for kicks. The is my video response to “WHY DA FUCK I GOTTA TIP ??”.
*I decided to remove my video. After only a few hours of being uploaded I was attacked with over 60 racial slurs as well as very disgusting comments. I do not want to be subjected to that bullshit. I accept opinions all the time, but the racial slurs and disrespect…I will not entertain that bullshit…no thank you!*
Breakdown of what I said in my video:
I feel the girl. Nobody should be chasing you down in a parking lot to tell you that your tip was not good enough. I don’t tip big. My maximum is $5.00 unless I am with a group of 4 or more adults. In which case, I am still only leaving $5.00 (unless my service was just amazing) but I’m not responsible for what the rest of the group puts in. I didn’t ask you to work there. You chose that job. You chose to serve food.
Maybe I’m just really an asshole because I seriously do not see why I am tipping someone for doing what they are supposed to do. Tips are an added bonus…a privilege. They should never be required unless you are with a group of 4 of more. And even then, why should I be required to tip even when my service is bad? I have paid the bill minus the included tip when it’s been required if I’ve had bad service. I once waited over an entire hour and 10 minutes for my meal to arrive and then it arrived cold. I was with a group of 12 people. Our server was sweet as she could be. But do you think I tipped her? No. She didn’t do anything. She served patrons surrounding us before she even realised we were still missing food. We sat there and watched a family of 7 sit down at least ten minutes after we did, have appetizers, meal and desert and actually leave the restaurant and we still did not have anything other then water. We asked for a manager immediately and received the entire meal for free. (Thank you Claim Jumpers of Long Beach, CA) Had we not complained tho, I guarantee a tip would have been included on the bill. And we would have been required to tip for bad service.
Do you tip?
What if the service is bad?
Do you think we as patrons should be required to leave a tip?
